Transmission

The excerpt from Hari Kunzru’s novel Transmission in your textbook is an example of the globalization of the workplace. This is also known as “outsourcing”; that is, moving jobs out of Western countries to less expensive countries with a cheaper workforce. It takes place in India in the Mehta family, a family about to have their lives changed by the global economy.
