Focus: Multiculturalism in the Anglo-American World![]() In one sense, Anglo-American multiculturalism is simply a description of historical reality. In another sense, however, it is a more complicated issue and the cause of intense debate in both countries. At the heart of this debate is the question of national identity; that is, what is it to belong to a nation? Who is in and who is out? And who decides this? Depending on the perspective taken, there are different answers to these questions.
